Spring is in the air here at The Little Farm of Chaos and this week has been packed with funny moments, surprising mini donkey antics and plenty of heart warming stories to share. Whether you’re a long time animal lover or a diehard farm fan or even just stopping by for a Sunday morning read, there’s always something here to brighten your day. Let’s dive into the latest updates from our farm, share some laughs, and look ahead to what’s coming next.
Updates from the Farm: How Our Animals Are Doing
The Mini Donkeys were getting a little bit frisky this week
Our donkeys have been especially playful this week. The three boys were relentless in pestering the two girls Adiva and Belinda. We did try to do a live cam in the shelter but our idea was to watch them playing (enough said) rather than having a broken camera we decided it was a bad idea and moved it down to the sheep.
Pebbles our pregnant Dutch Spotted Sheep then decided it was her turn to hog the camera and knock it over so everyone got a beautiful view of the sky, her favorite pastime is causing havoc . The whole flock seems more energetic, thanks to the warmer weather and fresh grass sprouting in the fields.
The Valais Blacknose sheep had a face and bottom trim
The Valais are not due to be sheared yet as it is still cold here on the mountains so this week we decided to just clip their faces and bottoms till the weather picks up, which means they are acting like they are actually seeing each other for the first time !!
The Ponies are all enjoying the dry weather as the fields are finally drying up
Our ponies have taken full advantage of the recent dry spells by indulging in rolling in every little patch of wet mud they can find !! Can you believe it ? they have had months of sludge and wet, we have brushed them and made them feel better as they have started to shed their coats, but the minute they are taken off their headcollars they look for puddles and filth to have a bath in .
Funny Moments That Made Us Smile
Every week brings its share of funny stories, and this one is no exception. Here are a few highlights that had us chuckling:
Bourbon vs Garden Hose: Our mischievous Mini Donkey, decided the garden hose was his new toy. He spent a good ten minutes chasing the water spray, slipping and sliding in the mud on the yard whilst we were trying to clean. Bourbon loves pulling this hose about to try and force the others donkeys play with him .
What’s Coming Up on the Farm
Looking ahead, we have some very exciting news:
We have a beautiful new lamb joining our family this week. She is a black, blue faced Leicester and is absolutely stunning. This little girl will be bottle fed and we hope to help her settle into her new home where she will be loved by everyone.
We also have our two Dutch Spotted girls coming home with their new lambs soon. Hoping that the girls are ok and their babies are healthy and will be getting their milk and goodness from their mums.
