Crewe & District Cat Rescue

Crewe & District Cat Rescue is a small voluntary group dedicated to the welfare of stray and feral cats. The rescue is entirely self-funded and relies heavily on donations, fundraising events, and the support of the local community to continue their work.

A Rescue Story Close to My Heart

I’d like to share a truly wonderful rescue story that is very close to my heart.

A stray cat that I had been feeding was discovered to be pregnant and had her kittens underneath a pallet at the livery yard. An amazing local lady, Sue, from Crewe & District Cat Rescue stepped in to help. She safely trapped the mother and her kittens and took them into their care.

The kittens were lovingly looked after until they were fully weaned, and I’m happy to say all four kittens eventually found good homes. Once the mother cat was neutered, she was safely returned to the stables where she belonged.

I’m pleased to say she is still part of my life today — I still have Catto, who is living her best life, along with another black cat called Spit, who was also part of a neuter-and-release programme.

Thanks to this amazing rescue, both cats are now healthy, safe, and cared for, and more unwanted litters have been prevented.
